A meeting to present innovative technical advances positively impacting AEDC was held March 21 within the Technology Innovations Branch.

A major focus of the U.S. Air Force is to create an innovative culture in order to deliver war winning capabilities to the warfighter by inspiring and providing the necessary tools and support.

This meeting allowed engineers to present a snapshot of their efforts that represented “Innovation in Daily Work.”

Rob McAmis, branch manager of the Technology Innovations Branch at AEDC, mentioned to those in attendance that “persistent innovation is critical” for AEDC and its customers.

“We want to be a part of fresh and consistent opportunities, and we want to embrace the changes that come along with innovation,” he said. “We are innovating daily solving many small problems as we progress toward providing big solutions for our AEDC Air Force client and test customers.”

Justin Garrard, AEDC engineer with the Asset Health Assurance group, explained how using a new tool determined the asset health of a large electric motor at AEDC.

Following Garrard, Andrew Redmon, a facility technology engineer, spoke on software improvements for the AEDC National Full-Scale Aerodynamics Complex at Ames Research Center in California that are making test data analysis more user-friendly and efficient.

“It's great to work at a place like AEDC that emphasizes the importance of the innovative process,” Redmon said.

Also presenting informative reports on their recent efforts were Pete Cento, Austin Voorhes, and Scott Williams.

“Thanks to each of you for showcasing how our capabilities are enabling the success of others,” McAmis said.
