Air Force 60th anniversary concert scheduled

In honor of the Air Force's 60th anniversary, the Air National Guard Band of the Smoky Mountains will perform on the lawn at the Security Federal Savings Bank in downtown McMinnville, Tenn., Wed., June 27 from 6-8 p.m. 

This performance is free and open to the public. As part of the show, there will be a special recognition of veterans and current military members. 

If bad weather persists, the celebration will be at the Warren County High School auditorium. 

The Air National Guard Band of the Smoky Mountains is located at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base near Knoxville, Tenn. The band is the official musical ambassador for the Tennessee Air National Guard. 

Concerts typically include traditional concert band pieces, military marches, patriotic selections, jazz, rock and country western selections. 

The band has performed for the Air Force Thunderbirds, the Navy Blue Angels, numerous State of Tennessee Governors Inaugural Ceremonies, as well as civilian and military performances in 21 states, Jamaica and the Dominican Republic.
