Arnold Air Force Base welcomes the addition of two new utility task vehicles, or UTVs, to the Arnold AFB Police fleet.

These specially equipped vehicles are set up to enhance patrol and response capabilities around the base, particularly in areas inaccessible to traditional patrol vehicles.

The new UTVs are outfitted as police packages, equipped with lights, sirens and other features essential for law enforcement operations. This ensures their ability to seamlessly integrate into the existing police response framework.

“These UTVs will be instrumental in allowing us to patrol areas like never before, ensuring the safety and security of everyone working and community through Arnold Air Force Base,” said Arnold AFB Police Operations Lt. Andy Schwegler.

Arnold Police officials emphasize that despite their size, the UTVs are to be treated with the same respect and consideration as any marked police vehicle.

“When encountered with lights activated, drivers are expected to respond accordingly, pulling over safely and following standard traffic laws,” Schwegler said.

The acquisition of these vehicles signifies a commitment to innovation and adaptability in law enforcement, allowing Arnold Police to better serve and protect the base community.
