Arnold Medical Aid Station hosts drug take-back, opioid response training event

An Arnold Engineering Development Complex team member drops off medications she no longer needs during a drug take-back event hosted by the Arnold Medical Aid Station at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., Feb. 23, 2023. The drop-off box will be permanently located at the medical aid station and available whenever the medical aid station is open. Drop-off boxes allow for medications, both over the counter and prescription, to be disposed of in a safe manner, keeping them out of waterways and the hands of those that might abuse them. Arnold Medical Aid Station hosts drug take-back, opioid response training event

Meredith Hugh, a regional overdose prevention specialist with the Franklin County Prevention Coalition, shows a device to administer naloxone during an event to train and certify interested individuals in the use of the opioid reversal drug at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., Feb. 23, 2023. The state of Tennessee requires that in order for individuals administering the drug to be protected by the state’s Good Samaritan law they must be certified through a training course. Arnold Medical Aid Station hosts drug take-back, opioid response training event

Dustin Ritchie, a regional overdose prevention specialist with the Franklin County Prevention Coalition, hands out an opioid overdose reversal kit to Megan Benton, an environmental compliance specialist at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn., after she and others listened to a training class, Feb. 23, 2023.
